In honor of the birthdays of Linus Yale, both Jr. and Sr. (both born in April!), inventors and manufacturers of locks, we bring you the tinplate safe.

While possibly not as safe as one made of cast iron, nevertheless, this little desk model is a fun project. You can make it in the “crashing through the floor” mode, as shown, or as a standard, upright safe.
